Pakistan’s national football team has achieved a major international milestone by qualifying for the final of an international tournament after a gap of six decades.
In the semi-final of the Diamond Jubilee Cup, Pakistan defeated Afghanistan 2-0 to secure a place in the final. The Green Shirts delivered an impressive performance and maintained control throughout the match.
Pakistan took an early lead when Umar Nawaz found the back of the net in the 5th minute. Harun Hamid sealed the victory with a second goal during stoppage time, ensuring Pakistan’s place in the final.
With this historic win, Pakistan has not only qualified for the Diamond Jubilee Cup final but has also reached the final of a major international football tournament for the first time in approximately 64 years. The last time Pakistan achieved this feat was in the 1962 Merdeka Cup.
Pakistan will now play the Diamond Jubilee Cup final on June 10, with fans hoping for another memorable performance from the national side.
