Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the government will unveil a significant reduction in petroleum product prices today. He stated that global oil prices had surged due to ongoing conflicts and war-related tensions worldwide. However, following the ceasefire, crude oil prices in the international market have started to decline, and the government intends to pass this relief on to the people of Pakistan.
Addressing the National Assembly, the Prime Minister said that Allah Almighty has blessed Pakistan with honor and dignity, and the country’s 240 million citizens deserve congratulations for this achievement. He added that Pakistan is now being recognized around the world with respect and prestige, and emphasized that all political forces should unite for the sake of national interests and the country’s unity.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the recently achieved diplomatic and national successes were made possible through the crucial contributions of the Field Marshal. He noted that the Field Marshal had worked tirelessly for several months, fulfilling his responsibilities with dedication and commitment, which helped the country overcome major challenges. The Prime Minister also praised the Deputy Prime Minister for his valuable services and role in safeguarding national interests.
The Prime Minister informed the House that he had a detailed conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian yesterday evening, during which both leaders discussed bilateral relations and the regional situation. According to the Prime Minister, the Iranian President thanked Pakistan and its people for their support and expressed a commitment to further strengthening the brotherly ties between the two countries.
Shehbaz Sharif said that he had invited the Iranian President to pay an official visit to Pakistan, and the invitation was accepted. He emphasized that Pakistan-Iran relations extend beyond mere neighborly ties, as both countries share deep religious, cultural, and historical bonds.
The Prime Minister further revealed that the Iranian President had invited him to attend a funeral prayer led by the Supreme Leader, and Pakistan would ensure its participation. He reiterated that Pakistan will continue to play a positive role in promoting peace, stability, and mutual cooperation across the region.
