A high-level Pakistani delegation led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will depart for Switzerland tonight to attend the ceremony of the US–Iran peace agreement. The delegation also includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and other senior officials.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed a reconciliation memorandum in Islamabad as a mediator. The memorandum had already been signed by US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. A video of the Prime Minister signing the document has also been released.

In his statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the electronic signing of the memorandum has been completed and the US–Iran agreement will come into immediate effect. He said both countries signed the agreement for a peaceful and diplomatic resolution of their dispute, while Pakistan played an important mediating role in the process.

He further stated that the ceremony scheduled for June 19, 2026, in Switzerland will mark the completion of this significant agreement. According to the Prime Minister, the deal will serve as an important milestone for peace, stability, and conflict resolution in the region.

Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated US President Donald Trump and the negotiation teams, saying that this breakthrough was made possible through the sincere efforts of all parties and will help promote peace in the region.
