Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the long and significant negotiations between the United States and Iran have been successfully concluded, resulting in a peace agreement between the two countries. In a message posted on social media platform X, he expressed satisfaction and optimism over the development.
According to the Prime Minister, the United States and Iran have agreed to immediately and permanently cease military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon. He stated that the official signing ceremony of the agreement will be held in Switzerland on June 19.
Shehbaz Sharif thanked both countries for demonstrating a serious commitment to resolving their differences through diplomacy. He also paid special tribute to Qatar’s leadership for its important role in the mediation process, describing Qatar’s support as crucial in reaching the agreement.
The Prime Minister further praised the leadership of Saudi Arabia and Türkiye for their vision and diplomatic efforts, noting that both countries played a significant role in paving the way for peace.
He added that the mediating countries will hold several meetings this week to advance the initial implementation talks. These discussions will focus on technical details and help prepare the groundwork for the official signing ceremony.
According to the Prime Minister, the agreement represents an important step toward promoting peace, stability, and diplomatic cooperation in the region.
