Famous and legendary actor of the Pakistani film industry, Santosh Kumar, has been gone for 44 years. He was a prominent figure of Pakistan’s golden era of cinema and won millions of hearts with his outstanding acting.
Santosh Kumar was born on 25 December 1925 in Lahore. His real name was Syed Musa Raza. He began his film career with the Punjabi film “Beli,” but it was the film “Waada” that brought him to the height of fame.
For this film, he was also awarded Pakistan’s first Nigar Award for Best Actor. His acting was highly praised during that era, and he quickly became a major name in the film industry.
During his career, Santosh Kumar acted in more than 90 films. His famous films include “Ghunghat,” “Rishta,” “Daman,” “Sarfarosh,” and “Qismat,” which are still considered classics.
He worked in several successful films alongside actress Sabiha Khanum, who later became his wife. Their on-screen pairing was greatly loved by audiences.
Santosh Kumar passed away on 11 June 1982, but his timeless performances and memorable roles have immortalized him in Pakistani film history.
