The Supreme Court of Pakistan has restored the right of defense of the PTI founder in a damages case filed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The court accepted his review petition and set aside the earlier judgments.

The decision was announced by a three-member Supreme Court bench by a 2-1 majority. The bench also overturned the decisions of the trial court and the High Court.

During the proceedings, Justice Ayesha Malik announced a short order. The same bench had previously reserved the verdict, which was later issued.

The court ruled that the PTI founder has a full right to present his stance and defend himself in the damages case. Following this decision, the case will now proceed further in legal proceedings.
