The growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) worldwide has marked a new milestone in the digital landscape. According to a recent report, machine and AI-driven activity on the internet has, for the first time, exceeded human activity.

A report published by Cloudflare revealed that 57.4% of total internet traffic now comes from artificial intelligence systems, bots, and other automated programs, while the share of human-generated activity has declined to 42.6%.

Experts say the rapid advancement of AI technology over the past few years has led to an unprecedented increase in the use of automated systems. Businesses across various industries are increasingly relying on AI for customer support, data processing, online services, and numerous other tasks, contributing to the growing presence of machines on the internet.

Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince stated that this shift has occurred much faster than expected. According to him, industry experts had predicted that machine-generated traffic would surpass human traffic several years later, but the rapid expansion of AI accelerated the transition ahead of schedule.

Analysts believe this trend highlights the increasingly significant role that artificial intelligence and automation will play in shaping the future of the internet and the digital economy. However, it also raises new challenges related to cybersecurity, data protection, and the monitoring of online activities.

The report further notes that the rapid evolution of AI technology is already transforming how businesses, websites, and online services operate around the world, with its impact expected to become even more prominent in the coming years.
